Organic Agriculture can ensure and sustain local food security and sovereignty and biodiversity conservation. We acknowledge that small scale farmers produce 70% of the world’s food provided they have secure access to natural resources.
ESAFF Uganda has for a long time dedicated its support to promoting organic agriculture because it has proved to improve the livelihoods of small scale farmers especially the women through increasing incomes, protecting their health and providing nutritious food. ESAFF Uganda has built and improved the capacity of small scale farmers in various districts.
This platform aims to increase documentation and knowledge on Organic agricultural products along the complete value chain and support relevant actors to translate into practices and wide application. It also informs producers about good practices and motivates their uptake. It acts as a knowledge hub for Organic Agriculture which can be accessed by producers.
Currently our work on promoting Organic Agriculture is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
